What: This workshop aims to create opportunities for effective and creative interactions among participants and instructors by mixing learning formats and devoting time to networking and idea generation. Through expert lectures, tutorials, and independent data exploration using a course-specific computational hub, participants will gain a deeper understanding of SAG data and bioinformatics techniques that enable the discovery of and insights into microbial genomics and ecology. Networking among workshop attendees will be facilitated formally through brainstorming activities and a participant symposium and informally through several group dinners and a recreational outing.
Intended Audience: Faculty, graduate students, post docs and professionals interested in learning about and working with SAG data. Limited to ~20 attendees.
